Sales for 2012-15 Uefa Super Cup Under Way


The sale of media content rights for the UEFA Champions League,UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA Europa League for the 2012-15 has been announced by the UEFA on Oct 28, 2010.

The sale rights process will be conducted by TEAM Marketing on behalf of UEFA.The worldwide sales process will begin in both Italy and the USA and Caribbean region, followed by the Middle East and North African regions

It has been announced that the tour format will remain unchanged from the 2009-12 rights cycle.The format of the new competition, which remains largely similar for the 2012-15 rights cycle, was a hit with supporters, viewers and clubs alike, being easy to understand and allowing an extended number of clubs to compete on a European level.

The successful launch of the UEFA Europa League is reflected by the broadcast platform which was achieved during the inaugural rights cycle, when over 90 broadcasters were contracted to supply coverage in 204 countries and territories worldwide.

"The UEFA Champions League is recognised as the best club football competition in the world and the UEFA Europa League has enjoyed enormous success in its inaugural [2009/10] season. We aim to maintain and continue to improve the benchmark status of the UEFA Champions League in the sports media industry while further growing the distribution of the UEFA Europa League in order to increase the profile and recognition of the competition." said at the launch of the sale of media rights, David Taylor, CEO of UEFA Events SA
